     In-depth analysis and practice of the elements of Level 3 – Advanced.

     Six cover tunes (one for each style).

     One original composition (with a band or a backing track).

     One Bass Solo arrangement.

Questions relative to the elements of Level 1.

Reading 1 Assessment
Level 1 Bass clef notation or chart sight reading.

Styles 1 Assessment
Live performance of one of the tunes suggested for Level 1. The key or tonality of the tune will be chosen by the examiner.

 

 

( Level 2 – Intermediate)

Harmony & Theory 2 Assessment
Questions relative to the elements of Level 2.

Mechanics & Technique 2 Assessment
Questions relative to the elements of Level 2.

Reading 2 Assessment
Level 2 Bass clef notation or chart sight reading.

Styles 2 Assessment
Live performance of one of the tunes suggested for Level 2. The key or tonality of the tune will be chosen by the examiner.

Improvisation 1 Assessment
Improvise in one of the Level 2 styles.

 

 


( Level 3 – Advanced)

Harmony & Theory 3 Assessment
You will be assessed on the elements discussed in Level 3.

Mechanics & Technique 3 Assessment
Questions relative to the elements relevant to Level 3.

Reading 3 Assessment
Level 3 Bass clef notation or chart sight reading.

Styles 3 Assessment
Performance of one of the tunes suggested for Level 3. The key or tonality of the tune will be chosen by the examiner.

Improvisation 2 Assessment
Advanced improvisation in one of the styles dealt in Level 3.

Arrangement
Perform a Solo Bass arrangement of an original composition or a cover tune. The arrangement must feature at least two Level 3 techniques and should include one of the style suggested for level 3.

 

 

 

(Master Level)

Performance of six cover tunes (one for each style).

Performance of an original composition (play along with a band or a backing track).

Perform a Bass Solo arrangment.

 

 

 

 

 


The Modern Music Institute International Bass Department programme is divided in two fundamental aspects:

     a) Admission Programme to the Examination
     b) Examination Programme for Levels 1-3 or Diploma
 level
The evaluation criteria are the following:
Total credits = 100 (Note: the extra Credits are used to fill some marking gaps and/or to achieve the Honours for the Diploma certificate)
To be admitted to the examination a minimum of 60 credits are required. The markings are:
     – Pass (60 – 74)
     – Merit (75 – 86)
     – Distinction (87 – 100)

     Note: Every Diploma certificate will state the final marking i.e.: Distinction 90/100
